In 1785, people discovered the gas generated by new substance, which was named as OZONE, in1870, ozone was used in industry. ozone is the allotrope of oxygen and composes of three oxygenatom with grass smell, the density is 1.658 (air: 1); the half life of 1% water solution under normal temperature is 16 minutes, ozone is a kind of colorless gas without toxin, under normal tempera-ture, it can instantly generate nascent oxygen (O);(O) is a kind of very active substance and featuresstrong ability in chemical reaction strong oxidation ability, and can deoxidize into oxygen O2.Ozonesterilizes and eliminates odor with this property.

Ozone is the allotrope of oxygen and composes of three oxygen atoms, oxygen atom arranges intriangle, and the included angle of O-O-O is 116°49? length of O-O bond is 1.278?.003 angstrom, andthe specific gravity of it is 1.66 times of air, and the activeness of it is over 600 times of oxygen, there-fore, it is alsocalled as "active oxygen". Ozone has special and irritant odor, under low concentration, it smells fresh, ozone is light blue gas and the liquid is dark brown under high pressure. It is one of the trongest oxidant, the density is 1.658 (air: 1). After cold treatment, ozone gas can convert into liquid, and the density is 1.71,boiling point is -112.3℃, dissolubility in water is higher than oxygen, ozone haspoor stability and can au-
tomatically decompose into oxygen under normal temperature, and immediately change into oxygen under 270℃. The half life of 1% water solution under normal temperature is 16minutes. Ozone sterilizes and eliminates odor with this property.

Ozone is of great importance for atmosphere. There is an ozone layer formed by the ultraviolet radiation in the stratosphere 12-35 km above the ground. It may absorb 90% of ultraviolet radiation, and protect the living things on the earth.So ozone is regular composition of high-altitude air. There is little ozone in the normal air near the ground. Most of ozo-ne in the room comes from outdoors. If there is no indoor ozone source, the indoor ozone concentration is about 20-30% of outdoor concentration. Indoor ozone mainly come from photocopiers, fax machine, laser printer, other dischar-ging home appliance, ultraviolet lamp, electronic sterilization equip-ment and so on.

Application of Ozone Sterilizing and Eliminating Odor:
